Looking for a new crew member to join us on our international print journey:
Code Engineer (Software Developer)
An exciting adventure for experienced developers. Step aboard and join us on this international print journey with destination WOW! Print.com is building a global printing platform that connects suppliers, professionals and customers. In addition to developing online tools, we produce our products in-house and stand for reliability and providing first class service.
Flight PDC0110 is ready for departure! Also standing by for takeoff: all kinds of new features – and that’s where you come in. You know how to push the right buttons and with your knowledge on board, we’ll make our features fly sky-high! Applications that you develop for our platform are topflight. You get our international ambitions and the sky’s the limit as far as you’re concerned. In fact, we can leave it up to you to add new destinations to our travel map and help us navigate to new features, tools, and applications.
We took the liberty of selecting some hotspots for you. Of course, there’s the typical excursion to (serverless) AWS and the well-known Command Line. Be sure to stop by Vue.JS, React and let’s not forget Node.JS via TypeScript. And get this: our destinations are completely free of legacy! One of the many benefits of being a relatively new company. Most of your colleagues travel by MacOS or Windows, but if you look closely you’ll spot one or two adventurous Linux lovers. Sharing must-see locations with your team is much appreciated. This gives everyone a chance to create their ultimate journey.
There’s a direct connection between our HQ in Deventer and our other offices in the Netherlands and abroad. Get out and about to experience foreign cultures, artisan productions, state-of-the-art machines, streamlined processes and get to know the crew all over the world.
Your day starts between eight and nine o’clock. After grabbing a cup of coffee or tea it’s time to get your ducks in a row before the daily stand-up starts. You’re the code engineer, the software developer in charge of fabricating our latest feature which made the life of print professionals that much easier. As a (pleasant) result, your inbox is overflowing with positive reactions. What a great morale booster for you and your team! After sharing success stories, it’s back to your day of code-cracking. A merge request here, giving some feedback on the code of a fellow developer there… Your mind wanders off to the upcoming dev day on Friday. What will you build this time? An ingenious tool to import contacts from Android or iOS to the web application? Or maybe a simple form to easily collect customer feedback? At the end of the day, your team has reviewed your code. Some small adjustments and a quick release in Gitlab later it’s time to close your laptop.
Our home base in Deventer accommodates more than 70 print nerds and 14 of them are your fellow developers. Our company’s worldwide headcount is 150 crew members. Most of the crew speaks Dutch, but we see an increase in the number of foreign travellers that join us on our journey. Luckily, almost everyone speaks English which makes sharing adventures that much easier.
This trip is all-inclusive. It’s important to keep hydrated at high altitudes, so feel free to help yourself to ice-cold water and excellent coffee throughout the day. We kick off the weekend together with Friday drinks. You’re looked after during the flight too. Get out of your chair, away from your screen and grab some lunch with your colleagues. Karin, who operates the galley, prepares a delicious lunch every day.
Teugseweg 18a, Deventer (the Netherlands). Rest your eyes on the stunning view over the IJssel, right from your workplace. There’s plenty to see, including varying water levels, beautiful wildlife, and all kinds of birds. And nature’s reward for a hard day’s work: a stunning sunset. How’s that for an office view!
There are 200 parking spots on the premises, the bus stop is around the corner and a commute between the office and the city centre or station will take you about 8 minutes.
Deventer is part of the Hanseatic League and served as one of Europe’s most important centres for publishing in the 15th century (hence the nickname ‘printing city’). Its historic city centre, cosy square, and many activities make Deventer a lively city with beautiful surroundings. The Print.com crew has an average age of 30 and is just the right blend of experienced print nerds and young, ambitious techies. Embrace the start-up mentality and discover your own growth path, including traveling smoothly from one island to another.
This ticket to adventure won’t cost you a penny. In fact, we’ll pay you for the experience you’ll acquire. Transfer costs are covered too. And to put a smile on the face of your future (elderly) self, a donation to your pension tip jar is also part of the deal.
Get ready for a turbulent, high-speed trip with plenty of stopovers (25 vacation days) to catch your breath. Be sure to pack loads of ambition, motivation and passion for this print journey, but leave some space in your suitcase for all the knowledge, experiences and contacts that you’ll pick up along the way. These souvenirs will definitely accelerate your career path.
